| True story from Seattle: Two teen-age girls were overheard at lunch yesterday:
"Did you see that the Russians have attacked Georgia?"
"No! Where? Atlanta?"
"I'm not sure!
"Like, why would they DO that?" |

| I am not a politician, but i am appalled at how lop-sided the conflict in Georgia has been portrayed in the American media. John McCain has repeatedly pegged Russia as the aggressor. And when Obama's voice was not as harsh and his speech was not as offensive, oh man...he is simply not ready to be commander-in-chief. From the little i know, Georgia declared its independence back in 90's. And ever since America has been in Georgia's ear subtly instigating to push the limits with Russia. When Mrs. Rice was proudly talking about another country freed from the hegemonial Russia, the American government was busy supplying Georgia with arms and weapons. A little later, Sakaashvili was added to the American puppetry cast. However, the democracy in Georgia so much praised on the pages of the American papers ran hollow among the citizens of Georgia. While Sakaashvili was brown-nosing in the West, poverty ran rampant in the country. During the opposition protests, people were shot, hundreds and hundreds of them. But as long as Georgia's Sakaashvili was playing its role in America's master plan in Caucasus' conflict, he was hailed as a democracy setter. Thus, convinced of America's support, the over pumped-up Sakaashvili decided to make a move. An attack was launched on South Ossetia, the area historically populated by Russia. Over 2,000 civilians were killed. Russia did not hesitate to respond. And that is when America conveniently pulled the rug away from uder Georgia. Georgia was left alone. Everything it had hoped for, fell through. Sakaashvili made a desperate plea with the western world community. McCain chimed in, Obama reserved his comments. A few days passed, everybody caught on. Russia is not the aggressor. Just like America, it defends its territory of influence. So jumping the gun, Oh such a dear habit of the Republicans, is not a sign of Commander-in-chief. Also, sometimes to get another perspective, it is worth to click on the sites of some other media, other than American.

| i was thinking about it today in one of my classes. it's really hard to tell. i think i am a crossover between Spiderman and Green Lantern. Sad, huh? but that's all i could get out of myself.
then on the way back, i was stuck between two trains (i take the light rail to school) going the opposite directions. and all i kept thinking of was how cool it would be to shoot some web over the light pole and pull myself up and over the train...just to get to the other side... where there would be a lot of people standing and gawking at me. how cool would that be? then i would turn green and fly off leaving a bright trail behind myself...probably all the morning Denver Post could have a picture of anyways...
but sad, i know...
